Taking place annually in Bangladesh’s second largest city, Chattogram, presented in partnership with 

Bangladesh Art Week & 𝙃𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙜𝙚 𝘽𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙡𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙨𝙝 𝙁𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣

 

The residency programme is organised by Sculpture Center Chattogram in association with  IAB - Chattogram Chapter. It will be Bangladesh’s first ever collaborative sculpture workshop between international and local 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 and 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀.

Open call to all members of the 3D community to apply to Bangladesh’s first ever collaborative sculpture workshop between international 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 and 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀.

 

Participants will get to gather for 𝟭𝟬 auspicious days for multidisciplinary learning & creation with the intent of realizing the importance of the symbiotic alliance between Architects and Artists.

 

Four artists and four architects from Bangladesh and UAE will be chosen to collaborate in pairs at the remarkable studio space of Artist  Alak Roy, Niloofar Chaman, and Architect Aroni Roy.

 

Throughout the workshop the participants will have the opportunity to be guided by a group of notable Mentors and have their final sculptures be presented in the form of a traveling exhibition.

 

𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻:

Sculpture Centre Chattogram, Foteabad, Chowdhurihut, Hathazari, Chattogram, Bangladesh

 

𝗘𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆:

Applicants with a background in Architecture or Fine Arts and are a maximum age of 40 years old are eligible to apply.

 

𝗦𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗮𝗹:

Any open-air space within an architectural landscape/ heritage building.

 

𝗦𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲 & 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹:

3’ x 3’ x 3’ Max dimension;

using 3d Printer, Clay, Plaster, Metal, Stone, Fiber Glass etc.

 

𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀:

Grants will be given in accordance to project proposals along with accommodation and food for 10 days.

 

𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀:

4. Two Project Proposals: One individual and one group concept

and design proposal.

5. NID/ Passport Copy

 

Project proposals should consist of:

A. 3D Drawings/ Renders

B. Construction Detail Drawings

C. Letter of Intent of maximum 300 words. Briefly describe your projects and its goal/mission. What tools are you currently working with in your practice? Clarify your plans and how the grant will fit in. Clearly state the nature of exchange of knowledge you desire through this multidisciplinary platform.
